Summary: Sungai Marang Basin has a total area of 467.3km with a dense river network. According to JPS's river network map, Sungai Marang originates from Bukit Temiang, north-east of the Basin. It has a length of ~ 34 km from source to the sea. However, tracing its path along its tributaries sungai Cadur and Sungai Peruh, its longest length is 53 km. Sungai Marang has nine major tributaries namely Sungai Rinting, Sungai Kerak, Sungai Gali, Sungai Asing, Sungai Tasik, Sungai Kubu, Sungai Tuman, sungai Cadur dan Sungai Temala. The entire Basin has been further divided into ten sub-basins based on the river network using the topography maps, satellite images, digital terrain data and verification of Basin boundary at site.
